Week of 3/9 - Color Hunt

For this assignment, I think the most challenging part was finding subjects for my photos. For the color red, I had a very limited amount of objects to photograph, so I used this red bottle in our garden because it was already a very vibrant color and I liked the red shadow it cast onto the wood behind. For the orange color, finding a subject was not as difficult because we have a lot of orange trees with fruit right now, so I just had to find the right angle. The color yellow was also pretty rare, but there are a lot of daffodils in bloom right now, so I got close to one and shot it straight on. Green was probably the easiest color to find a subject for, so I went with the smaller subject of the clovers on the ground because the background was also green but the subject still stood out. Blue was a little tricky to find because there is really only blue in the sky, so I took some pictures of my sister's Volkswagen Bug, which is a fairly pale blue, but I raised the saturation so that it would be a little more blue though it is still very pale. The color purple was definitely the most difficult to find, but I saw these very small purple flowers and shot them because they were the only purple I could find. Because they were so small, there is a little green in the background, but I lowered the saturation and contrast of the leaves in the back so that the purple would stand out more. I liked this assignment because if you are actually looking for colors, they are more difficult to spot and it gave shooting photos more of a challenge.
