For my first try, I followed the article provided and produced the image on the right. I began by duplicating the original image and inverting and blurring to alter the light. Next, I copy and pasted the layer twice, making different alterations with the Filter Gallery and changing the opacity and blur mode of each layer so that the original image would still be present, but would be altered to make the image look as if it were hand-drawn.
The second lighthouse I created was based loosely off of the article as well, but this time I used different filters in the Filter Gallery, like the sponge and watercolor effects to make the image look like it was painted in watercolor. For the final image, I used the matched a blur layer with the hue of the image to create the wide variety of colors. Then to get the texture of the paper, I used the watercolor paper filter and a different brush filter to soften the edges. I used this article provided as a template for each of my different versions, changing the filters and blending modes for each layer to give the final results unique effects.
