The tutorials I followed were both from fstoppers.com. The first one was how to make a night sky behind a subject and the second one showed how to view a histogram to make sure your subject has the correct exposure.
To the left is my original image and below is the image edited in photoshop.
The first tutorial on editing in a night sky was pretty easy to follow, and though it was meant for Luminar software, it worked on Photoshop as well. The subject I chose had a few light spots that I had to edit out to make sure it looked like nighttime, but the end result was mostly consistent with the example they provided. I think this tutorial would probably work with most other subjects.
The second tutorial about reading a histogram
was also quite clear. I could understand well what
they were trying to communicate with the two
different examples provided. My histogram ended
up being a small bit out of place, but this was
probably because of the light patch on the tree
in the original image. This tutorial could probably
help with any image, as long as the exposure on
the original is consistent for the whole subject.
